PRP Treatments

PRP or platelet rich plasma, is a treatment that uses components of patients’ own blood plasma to increase the body’s healing response. PRP treatments are more generically known as ‘Facial Stem Cell Regeneration’ therapy.

PRP facial treatment is a quick 30 minute procedure. Using the ECLIPSE PRP system, a small amount of blood is drawn from the patient and spun down in a centrifuge to separate the different blood components and create platelet rich plasma.  If we need larger volumes, or higher concentration PRP, such as for hair growth, we use the MAGELLAN PRP system.  Topical anesthesia is given and the platelet rich plasma is injected into the appropriate areas with micro-needling techniques. The treatment is ideal for individuals looking for gradual but noticeable improvement in skin texture, tone, and color with minimal downtime. The treatment yields a rejuvenated and healthier skin appearance. When combined with companion therapies such as injectables or non-invasive skin tightening technologies such as INFINI or Pixel laser, the results can be dramatic!

It can be used on all skin types and colors. It helps eliminate skin wrinkles, improves the appearance of those with acne scarring, and hastens the healing process after a facial peel or laser treatment. It also appeals to patients who are looking for an all natural approach to rejuvenate the face. It also can reduce the appearance of stretch marks.

For best results, we recommend three treatments, 4-8 weeks apart, with a booster treatment at around 12 months. Improvement in the skin texture is noticeable within the first month while full collagen regeneration takes 3 months. The improvements continue over the next 12 months, as new collagen production continues to improve the overall appearance of the dermis. The effects last for 18 months to 2 years or longer. Because this treatment is made from the patient’s own blood, there is no risk for rejection or an allergic reaction. Downtime is minimal and the skin may appear slightly sunburned for up to 48 hours with little or no associated discomfort.

Microneedling

Automated micro-needling is an innovation in aesthetics for the treatment of the appearance of fine lines, acne scars, and the skin’s texture, tone, and color. It is a minimally invasive procedure that involves the use of a device that contains fine needles. The needles are used to puncture the skin to create a controlled skin injury. Each puncture creates a channel that triggers the body to fill these microscopic wounds by producing new collagen and elastin. New collagen and elastin production can reverse years of sun damage, improve acne scars and enhance the overall appearance of aging skin.

Eclipse MicroPen® is the most advanced medical-grade automated micro-needling device on the market.  Micro-needling also helps the skin absorb treatment serums (such as hyaluronic acid or PRP) 80% more effectively deeper into the skin. Think of it like aerating your lawn when fertilizing 2-3 treatments are recommended for best results about a month apart. Most people notice healthier looking skin immediately and the repair process continues over the next few weeks. Rebuilding your collagen will take up to 6 months so your skin will continue to improve over the next 6-12 months.

Microdermabrasion

Microdermabrasion is a cosmetic procedure that evenly and safely exfoliates the skin. It will gently resurface superficial layers of the skin promoting the rejuvenation of new healthier skin.  We utilize the highest grade medical device available, the MegaPeel EX- an innovative hybrid microdermabrasion machine that delivers the best of both worlds with both diamond and crystal microdermabrasion.

A highly controlled spray of fine medical grade aluminum oxide and diamond crystals are applied to your face followed by a vacuum system that pulls up the dead skin and crystals. Afterwards, a soothing hydrating cream is applied to the treated area. The procedure takes about 30 minutes. Microderm is right for all skin types and for anyone interested in minimizing the appearance of fine lines, wrinkles, brown spots, uneven skin tones, dull lifeless, and sun-damaged skin.

The number of treatments recommended for maximal results range between 5 and 12 treatments, spaced 1 to 3 weeks apart. Major changes like reduction of fine lines and hyperpigmention become visible after five treatments. Maintenance treatment is recommended at least every three months. Long term treatments are medically proven to rebuild the collagen and fibrin in your skin giving it a tighter, fuller appearance.

TCA Chemical Peels

TCA Peels TCA or Trichloroacetic Acid peels treat deep into your skin to remove damaged and wrinkled skin and stimulate your body to create healthy new skin. This treatment will diminish our fine lines, wrinkles, and sun damage. Visible results will be achieved after just 1 treatment.

Results will vary based on the depth of peel performed. TCA peel depths vary based on acid concentration. Dr. Cappuccino performs 10% all the way to 50% peels. Downtime can range from 2 days to 2 weeks. Deeper peels do equal longer downtimes, so every patient can form their own customized treatment plan based on their wishes.

Sclerotherapy (spider veins)

Asclera® (polidocanol) Injection is a prescription medicine that is used in a procedure called sclerotherapy to treat two types of veins:

  • Uncomplicated spider veins (very small varicose veins ≤ 1 mm in diameter)
  • Uncomplicated small varicose veins (1 to 3 mm in diameter) known as reticular veins

Asclera® is a sclerosing agent that is injected into the vein. It works by damaging the endothelium, the cells lining the inside of blood vessels. Typically 2-3 treatments are required for the full treatment of spider veins.
