IPL Treatment Of Spider Veins

Intense pulsed light can be used to treat spider veins on the face and body. Light energy is selectively absorbed by the oxyhemoglobin resulting in heating of the blood vessels. With the correct wavelengths and power, the blood vessels will break down and shrink which leads to a reduction of the spider veins. Typically 3-5 sessions are required for full treatment of the spider veins. Downtime is minimal, with redness lasting a few hours.

BBL- Photofacial Treatment

Developed by Sciton, BBL is the most advanced version of IPL, or intense pulsed light.  BBL BroadBand Light technology utilizes the power of pulsed light to deliver excellent phototherapy results. By selecting the appropriate wavelength or filter, Dr. Cappuccino will be able to treat a broad range of skin conditions caused by skin aging and sun exposure. The light energy delivered by the BBL gently heats the upper layers of the skin. The heat absorbed by the targeted areas coagulates tissue to variable depth. This process helps restore the skin to its natural state. In addition, the photothermal energy targets and eliminates many of the fine vessels that cause redness and the unwanted melanin responsible for pigmented lesions. BBL is used to treat acne, pigmented lesions, freckles, age spots, spider veins, rosacea, as well as hair removal.  BBL is highly effective with little or no downtime. 3-5 treatments are typically required, each about 2-3 weeks apart.

BBL-Forever Young

The use of BroadBand Light (BBL) for the purpose of delaying skin aging is a unique and novel benefit. To date, BBL has been used with great success to correct aged or damaged skin, including photo-aging, vascular and pigmented lesions, erythema and flushing, scars, and acne. Forever Young stimulates changes at the molecular level. The gene expression of older, damaged skin cells changes, and will more closely resemble the genes expressed in younger skin cells. While not yet FDA approved for anti-aging, internationally BBL Forever Young has been well documented to enhance gene expression in aged skin. With the Forever Young BBL treatment technique, the benefits of BBL can be expanded to include maintaining healthy skin once it has been corrected and delaying the signs of skin aging.

This new Forever Young BBL treatment is ideal for both younger and more mature patients who do not yet need correction of damaged skin but desire to maintain healthy skin and delay skin aging. A minimum of two Forever Young BBL treatments per year.

Optimal results for maintaining healthy skin and delaying skin aging require four full Forever Young BBL treatments each year, timed on a quarterly basis. When sun exposure may be an issue, Forever Young BBL treatments can be deferred until less sunny months. Appropriate skincare includes daily application of a physical sunblock to prevent complications such as hyperpigmentation after a Forever Young BBL treatment.
