How Does Avéli Work?

To understand how Avéli addresses cellulite, it helps to understand what causes cellulite in the first place. Cellulite is the result of little bands of connective fibrous tissue located underneath the skin. These bands, which are called septa, attach to the skin and pull it inward. As a result, the little divots known as cellulite are created, making the skin look older and less healthy.

Put simply, Avéli works by severing the septa bands beneath the skin. This is achieved with the use of a handheld device, which features a tiny blade that can be precisely controlled by Dr. Cappuccino. The Avéli device is inserted into a small incision, where its blade can carefully cut the individual bands of tissue that are causing the cellulite. Once the septa have been severed, they release their pull on the skin, which allows it to become firm and smooth once again.

What Should I Expect During the Procedure?

If you’re considering Avéli treatment for cellulite, you can start the process by having a consultation with Dr. Cappuccino. During this meeting, the doctor will listen to your goals for the treatment. He’ll also discuss Avéli with you and answer any questions you have to help you determine if it’s the right treatment for your needs. If you decide to proceed, Dr. Cappuccino will work with you to create a custom-tailored plan. But your Avéli treatment will be performed as an outpatient procedure using local anesthesia.

Once the anesthesia has taken effect, Dr. Cappuccino will begin by making a small incision in the treatment area. He will then carefully insert the Avéli device and deploy its small blade. Next, he will be able to target the specific septa bands that are responsible for your cellulite and sever them individually with precision. When he has finished cutting the bands of tissue, he will remove the device, close the incision with sutures, and apply bandages to the area. Overall, the Avéli treatment will likely take around an hour to complete, and you should be able to return home shortly after the procedure.

How Long Is the Recovery Time?

After your Avéli treatment, you’ll probably experience some bruising, swelling, and soreness, but these symptoms should subside on their own. Dr. Cappuccino will give you thorough instructions to ensure that your skin heals properly. Most patients can go back to work and resume their normal routines within one or two days, but it’s best to hold off on strenuous physical activity for at least one to two weeks.

How Long Will It Take To See Results After Avéli Treatment?

You can expect to start seeing the results of your Avéli treatment after approximately two weeks. However, it usually takes about three months for the complete effects to become visible. Most patients require only one treatment session for optimal results, and as long as you maintain a healthy lifestyle, the effects can potentially last for several years.
